FNN NOTE
In Germany, according to FNN note "Connecting
and operating storage units in low voltage networks"
(October 2016), systems eligible under the FIT
scheme in accordance with EEG and KWKG are not
allowed to feed energy from storage units into the
utility grid. To ensure this, the input value for
Consumption Limit is not allowed to be negative.
Procedure:
1. Open the LCS-Tool.
2. Log in as an Installer.
3. Call up the menu Setup.
4. In the Power Management menu enable the function
Peak Load Shaving. To do so, select the option
button On.
5. Enter the desired value for SoC threshold.
6. Under Limit over Soc threshold, enter the thresholds
for the grid feed-in and grid-supplied power for a
battery state of charge that is above the defined
setpoint.
– Consumption Limit: limiting value for
grid-supplied-power
– Feed-in limit: limiting value for the grid feed-in
7. Under Limit over Soc threshold, enter the thresholds
for the grid feed-in and grid-supplied power for a
battery state of charge that is below the defined
setpoint.
8. Enter the desired value for SoC threshold hysteresis.
9. Select [Save] to save the changes.
5.2.11 Setting Time of Use
INFORMATION
This function can only be used in battery storage
systems.
• Recommendation: In PV systems, leave this
function disabled.
The Time of Use function makes it possible to reduce energy
costs by effectively using different electricity tariffs
throughout the day. For this purpose, the LCS-Tool enables
the definition of periods when the battery can be charged
at low cost and periods when the battery is discharged
when energy costs are high.
The battery can be charged up to 60 kW.
Installation Manual
In the standard configuration, the battery can be
discharged with 60 kW. If the system is equipped with the
Storage Extension Kit TV-10, the battery can be discharged
with 75 kW.
Battery behavior during the charging period:
• The battery will be charged at the specified charging
power. At night, the energy will be directly drawn from
the utility grid.
If there is unused PV energy available for charging the
battery during the day, the missing energy will be
drawn from the utility grid.
• Discharging and controlling the battery are blocked for
the charging period.
Battery behavior during the discharging period:
• If power is drawn at the point of interconnection, the
battery inverter attempts to compensate for this by
discharging the battery.
• If excess PV power is being fed in at the point of
interconnection, the battery inverter attempts to
balance this by charging the battery.
• If the maximum charging power of the battery system
has been exceeded during the discharging period,
power is fed into the utility grid.
• If the maximum discharging power of the battery
system has been exceeded, power is drawn from the
utility grid. This power is not used to charge the
batteries.
In order to optimally adapt the charging behavior to the
different conditions over the course of the year, the settings
can be made separately for two periods (Season 1 and
Season 2). For these periods, separate charging profiles
can be defined for each day of the week. Settings for
30-minute intervals or for the entire day can be made.
