If you wish to adjust other settings (e.g. low-voltage protection), proceed as
described above.
Release the set-up button exactly when the green LED flashes for the corresponding
function to be adjusted (or the corresponding beep tone is heard, depending on the
motor); an exact description of the individual functions is given further below.
Then press the set-up button shortly as often as required until the red LED flashes
correspondingly for the desired setting value.
If the speed controller unit is switched off, the current setting and/or value will be
saved.

• Function #1, green LED flashes 1x short: Drive function
In this settings menu the speed controller can be switched between "forwards/brake" and
"forwards/brake/reverse" (reverse driving can be switched off).
• Function #2, green LED flashes 2x short: Handbrake
The handbrake function stops the vehicle from rolling when on an uneven surface or slope.
The higher the set value of the handbrake function, the less the vehicle rolls when it is resting
on a slope. A standard electric motor - at rest - has a certain amount of braking strength due
to the magnets it contains - a brushless electric motor, however, does not.
Settable values are 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 40%.
• Function #3, green LED flashes 3x short: Undervoltage protection
If LiPo rechargeable batteries are used, then you must ensure that the low-voltage
protection is activated (e.g. 3.0 V per cell).
If the low-voltage protection is activated, the speed controller unit measures the
rechargeable battery voltage immediately after it is switched on. At a voltage lower
than 9.0V, the unit assumes a 2-cell LiPo rechargeable battery is in place; at
voltages between 9.0 and 12 V it assumes a 3-cell LiPo rechargeable battery is in
place.
If the rechargeable battery voltage is lower than the set value (e.g. 3.0 V per cell, power cut-
out at 6.0 V when 2-cell LiPo rechargeable battery is used), the motor is shut off in order to
protect the battery.
Where NiMH batteries are used, the voltage for switching off depends on the voltage of the
NiMH battery. For a NiMH battery voltage below 9.0V, the switch-off voltage of a 2-cell LiPo
rechargeable battery is used (e.g. 2x 2.6V = 5.2V). For a NiMH battery voltage over 9.0V,
the switch-off voltage of a 3-cell LiPo rechargeable battery is used (e.g. 3x 2.6V = 7.8V).
Example: NiMH battery with 6 cells and approx 8.0V (rechargeable battery fully charged),
undervoltage protection for LiPo programmed to 2.6V -> Switch-off at 5.2V for this NiMH
battery.
• Function #4, green LED flashes 4x short: Start mode when driving off
Depending on this setting, the take-off/start is performed more or less powerful. Note that the
two settings "fast" and "very fast" require a correspondingly powerful rechargeable battery
which is capable of providing the appropriate current during take off.
• Function #5, green LED flashes 1x long: Maximum braking strength
The speed controller unit allows proportional braking strength depending on the setting of
the transmitter lever. The maximum braking power at full lever extension can be adjusted to
25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.
A high setting (e.g. 100%) decreases braking distance but has a negative effect on the
lifetime of the cogs (drive pinion gear, main gear and differential gears).
• Function #6: green LED flashes 1x long 1x short: Max. reverse speed
The maximum speed for reversing can be programmed with this function. Settable values
are 25%, 50%, 75% und 100%. We recommend setting the reverse speed to 50% so that
the vehicle can still be controlled in reverse driving.
If reverse driving was switched off (see "Function #1"), this setting has no effect.
The settings/values with the grey background are the factory settings made by the manufacturer.
For newer speed controller versions, the manufacturer may have stored different basic
settings. Before first commissioning of the speed controller, check all settings and adjust them
to your motor or vehicle, if required.

• Function #7: green LED flashes 1x long, 2x short: Minimum braking strength
This is where you can set the braking strength, when the braking process begins (depending
on the setting of the transmitter gas&/braking lever).
The presetting is the same braking strength as the handbrake function (see "Function #2"),
but values of 20% and 40% can also be programmed.
• Function #8, green LED flashes 1x long, 3x short: Neutral range (for neutral setting
on transmitter)
This function allows the range or area "D"
(see picture right) is recognised as the
neutral position by the transmitter.
A = Mechanical central position
B = Full throttle forward
C = Full throttle reverse
D = Neutral range
E = Forwards range
F = Reverse range
Settable values are 6%, 9% and 12% of the
lever travel.
• Function #9, green LED flashes 1x long, 4x short: Timing
Generally, higher timing values can lead to better output performance from the motor, yet
also to lower efficiency (shorter drive time).
Settable values are 0.00, 3.75, 7.50, 11.25, 15.00, 18.75, 22.50 and 26.25.
• Function #10, green LED flashes 2x long: Motor type selection
This option is factory set to "Brushless-Motor" and cannot be adjusted.
• Function #11, green LED flashes 2x long, 1x short: Overheating protection
The overheating protection of the speed controller unit activates at +95°C, if this temperature
is measured for longer than 5 seconds. In this case the motor is switched off and the green
LED flashes.
