Safety Notices

The guarantee/warranty will be void if damage is incurred resulting from non-
compliance with the operating instructions. We will not assume any
responsibility for consequential damage!
Nor do we assume liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by improper use or the failure to observe the safety instructions! In such
cases the warranty/guarantee is voided.
• The unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product is prohibited for safety and
approval reasons (CE). Never disassemble the product. There are no components inside the
housing that need to be adjusted or serviced by you. Furthermore, the guarantee/warranty
would also expire in such a case!
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children!
• The speed controller should not become damp or wet, which would destroy it.
• Disconnect the battery from the speed controller whenever the speed controller is not
needed. The speed controller can be temporarily switched off using the on/off switch.
• Always turn on the transmitter first and put the engine control (gas/brake) into neutral
position. Then the speed controller may be connected to a battery pack and switched on.
• Before turning off the transmitter, turn off the speed controller and, if necessary, disconnect
it from the battery.
• The speed controller, the motor connected to it and the batteries will become very hot during
operation. Risk of burns!
• When operating vehicles, make sure that no body parts or other objects come into contact
with moving parts. Risk of injury!
• Always use a battery pack to operate the speed controller. Never use a wall power supply.
• Only connect a single brushless motor to the speed controller.
• The speed controller is not suitable for the operation of conventional electric motors with two
connections! The speed controller is only suitable for operating of a sensor-free brushless
motor.
• When installing, keep the greatest possible distance between the receiver and the speed
controller/motor to avoid interference. Do not install the speed controller cable parallel to the
receiver aerial line.
• When operating the model, sufficient cooling has to be provided for the speed controller as
well as the motor. Never cover the heatsink or the fan of the speed controller!
Always check the fan before operation, do not block it, remove dust or dirt from the fan that
has accumulated during operation of the vehicle or otherwise.
• Before recharging the rechargeable battery, disconnect it from the speed controller.
• Do not leave packaging material unattended. It may become a dangerous toy for children.
• Handle the product with care. It can be damaged through impact, blows or when dropped
even from a low height.

Speed Controller Assembly and Connection
• Attach the speed controller to the vehicle, e.g. by using double-faced adhesive tape or a
piece of hook-and-loop tape. The speed controller should be installed in the car as far as
possible away from the receiver and motor.
• Connect the 3 motor connection cables of the speed controller to those of the motor.
If the motor is rotating in the wrong direction (depending on the transmission of the vehicle)
simply swap two of the three connections. The motor now rotates in the opposite direction.
• The on/off switch should be attached so that it can be operated easily. Also use hook-and-
loop tape or double-sided tape for installation.
• Install all cables so that they cannot become entangled in rotating or moving parts of the
vehicle. Use cable ties to secure them.
• Connect the three-pole plug of the speed controller to the corresponding channel of the
receiver. Make sure the assignment on the receiver is correct (see operating instructions of
the receiver as well as the information on the receiver).

Brown/black cable:
• Since the speed controller is equipped with a BEC, no receiver battery or rechargeable
battery must be used! The receiver is powered by the vehicle battery directly through the
speed controller.

Programming
The speed controller unit has many different programming options, e.g. adjustment of the
braking strength, a low-voltage protection function for LiPo rechargeable batteries and much
more.
We would like to explain the function of the programming using the following example of how
to set the handbrake function.
The higher the set value of the handbrake function, the less the vehicle rolls when
it is resting on a slope. A standard electric motor - at rest - has a certain amount of
braking strength due to the magnets it contains - a brushless electric motor,
however, does not.
The basic (factory) setting, for example, is "10%". In the following example, this
value is to be changed to "40%"
For this purpose, proceed as follows:
• Switch off the speed controller.
• The remote control transmitter must be activated/
must remain switched on (don't switch it off!). The
gas/brake lever must be in its neutral position.
• Hold down the small button on the speed controller
unit (see arrow in the picture to the right) and
switch the speed controller unit on (do not release
the button, keep it held down!).
Do not use any force when holding the button
down. Otherwise the button may break; you will
void your guarantee!
• The red LED on the side of the speed controller
unit flashes. Continue to press and hold the setup
button. Don't release it!
• The red LED stops flashing and the green LED begins to flash (continue to press and hold
the setup button. Don't release it!).
Depending on the flash signal given by the green LED, the speed controller unit is
in a corresponding settings menu. At the same time as the flash signal emitted by
the green LED, the motor emits a corresponding beep tone.
The beet tone is generated because the brushless motor is activated for a moment.
Depending on the motor, this beep may be very low or inaudible. Then observe the
LED on the speed controller.
• Staying with the example of setting the handbrake function - release the set-up button at the
exact time when the green LED flashes twice briefly (2x).
• The green LED goes out and the red LED flashes as often as the current value which is set
on the speed controller unit.
1x short = 0%
2x short = 5%
3x short = 10%
4x short = 15%
• Briefly press the set-up button at the speed controller to select the next value. Check the flash
signal of the red LED
Once the desired value is reached (for 40% the red LED will flash 1 x long and 3 x short),
switch off the speed controller unit. This concludes the programming. The value is saved.
