OPERATION - - CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTS
TRACTOR COUPLING AND UNCOUPLING FROM THE BALER
Tractor features
FB model balers require tractors having a minimum power at the PTO corresponding to:
Model
FB 212
GA FB 12
FB 212 L
E
GA FB 12L
FB 215 L
GA FB 15L
N
Before connecting the tractor, check the compatibility
G
with the shown features.
L
In particular, check that:
I
S
H
--
the tractor is in good operating conditions (tyre
pressure, lighting equipment, etc...). .
--
The tractor braking system is effective and suita-
ble to brake the tractor/baler assembly.
Note: the baler has no individual braking
systems.
--
The tractor tow hook should be suitable to bear
the max. vertical static load, operating on the ba-
ler eyelet, of 350 kg.
--
The pressure of the tractor hydraulic system, for
the baler operation, should range between 130
and 210 bar.
--
The envisaged PTO rpm number should not ex-
ceed 540 rpm.
MACHINE BODY HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
In case of operating requirements, the machine body
can be lifted or lowered from position A to position B,
fig. 15. To carry out this operation, proceed as fol-
lows:
--
Lift the machine on one side, by a suitable lift, in
the point shown in fig. 16.
--
Remove the screws, re. 1 fig. 15.
--
Position the flange in A or B, depending on the
operation requirements.
--
Fit the screws, re. 1 fig. 15, tightening them at the
torque of 400±10 Nm.
--
Carry out the same operation on the opposite si-
de.
--
The baler is shipped from the factory with ma-
chine body fastened in upper position.

Minimum power
37 kW (50 CV)
REPLACEMENT OF ONE WHEEL
If one wheel is replaced or repaired, proceed as fol-
lows:
--
loosen the nuts of the wheel to be removed.
--
Lift the whole machine, by a suitable hydraulic lift,
in the point shown in fig. 16.
--
Remove the nuts from the hub and take the whe-
el out.
--
Refit the wheel and approach the wheel nuts to
the hub.
--
Lower the machine and remove the hydraulic lift.
--
Tighten the wheel nuts at the torque of 300±10%
Nm.
BALER STEERING SHAFT ADJUSTMENT
AND TRACTOR COUPLING
To adjust the baler steering shaft with the tractor tow
hook, position the towed machine on an even
ground, sturdy enough to ensure the supporting foot
stability.
In case of uneven grounds, use also the suitable
wheel stopping wedges supplied with the balers, to
ensure the machine complete stability.
DANGER: risk of squeezing due to machine
instability.
Arrange a suitably wide area to manoeuvre, later on,
the tractor during coupling/uncoupling operations.
Proceed as follows:
1
adjust the baler supporting foot, by the suitable
crank, so that the machine body is as much hori-
zontal as possible.
2
Align the tractor to the baler to connect the tow
hook to the eyelet and get the correct height of
the steering shaft, fig. 17. Stop the tractor, enga-
ge the parking brake and remove the keys from
the dashboard before getting off the tractor.
Recommended power
45 kW (60 CV)
