OPERATION - - CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTS
BALER OPERATION
Gallignani GA FB harvesting balers are machines manu-
factured to be towed by tractors, to harvest, press
and wrap agricultural crops such as straw, fodder, si-
lage, maize stubbles, etc...
The main feature is that they are fixed round balers,
produce soft core bales and are available in three dif-
ferent models:
theGA FB 12 m odel is equipped with pick--up (1), hav-
ing a width by 1550 mm.
TheGA FB 12L and 15L models are fitted with
wide pick--up (width 2000 mm). These last models
are supplied with cross augers (2), over the pick--up,
that reduce the crop width from the pick--up one to the
bale chamber one, creating a more steady swath.
The simpleness of the adopted technical solutions,
the wide range of available models, alongwith the
high reliability, make GA FB model balers extremely ver-
satile and suitable to any need of harvesting, with all
crops.

OPERATION - - CROP PROCESSING
To complete theGA FB m odel baler versatility, the net
wrapping kit is available upon request and can be fit-
ted on all models.

achieve high speeds during road transfers (depen-
ding on the type--approval regulations in the country
where it operates, the baler should not exceed 40
km/h).
The FB operating speed is 540 PTO rpm (a higher
rpm could damage the baler).
FEEDING AND BALING
The pick--up (1) with cross feed augers (2), (only on

The windguard (4) can be set at different height posi-
tions, so that the crop can be kept over the pick--up,
for its easier feeding. The floor front and rear rollers
(5) convey the crop towards the bars of the conveyor
chains (6).
The joint action starts the bale shaping process in the
bale chamber (7). In this step the tailgate (8) is closed
and locked. The crop rolls in the chamber; when the
latter is full, the crop is pressed according to its
weight and structure.
