Diagnostics
Cable damaged
Immediately stop the manoeuvre
- set the load on the ground,
- withdraw the wire rope from the unit,
- scrap the wire rope and replace it by a wire rope
in good condition,
- send back* the fall arrest device for inspection.
Jaw mechanism failure
(1) Immediately stop the manoeuvre
- set the load on the ground,
- withdraw the wire rope from the unit,
- send back* the fall arrest device for inspection.
Ballast weight not correctly
Immediately stop the manoeuvre
positioned
- position the ballast weight as instructed in the
lifting installation manual,
- perform functional checks on the fall arrest
device as instructed in §9.
Wire rope entry or exit holes
Immediately stop the manoeuvre
are obstructed or soiled
- set the load on the ground,
- withdraw the wire rope from the unit,
- clean the wire rope holes on the unit,
- reinstall the wire rope in the unit,
- perform functional checks on the fall arrest
device as instructed in §9.
Distance (f) not observed
Immediately stop the manoeuvre
- modify lifting system to observe distance (f) as
instructed in §5.2.1,
- perform functional checks on the fall arrest
device as instructed in §9.
Wire rope worn

- set the load on the ground,
- withdraw the wire rope from the unit,
- scrap the wire rope and replace it by a wire rope
in good condition.
