3.5 Sensor Installation
2. Slide sensor into a mounting frame back end first aligning the angled edge of the sensor
with the angled edge of the mounting frame. Keep sensor from making contact with the
pipe until it butts up against the mounting frame stop. Push sensor down to mate with
pipe.
3. Tighten the sensor clamping screws to hold the sensor firmly in place.

4. If installing a temperature sensor proceed to Mounting Temperature Sensor (Page 42). If
not, proceed to Sensor Wiring (Page 45).

Mounting Temperature Sensors

Temperature is used to normalize the liquids sonic velocity in order to properly determine
interfaces and for density determination. Temperature sensors are available in clamp-on
style or in insert (Thermowell) style. Refer to the table below. Both styles incorporate 1000
ohm platinum RTD's for high precision.
