6.2.1 Assembly format SAE

To assembly the alternator to the motor, it is advised to
use suitable equipment in order to ensure the integrity
of the windings.
It is recommended to use an extension to be coupled to
the shaft so as to keep the rotor aligned after the bearing
comes out of its seat.
• Make sure the diameter of the disk (3) corresponds
with the diameter of the seat in the flywheel (2);
• Screw the extension (4) into the hole in the rotor at the
shield end until it is completely in contact;
• Using a plastic mallet, strike the end of the extension
until the rotor comes out by at least 7-8cm;
• Using a fork-lift truck, raise the alternator and fix the
rotor assembly (disc+rotor) to the flywheel;
• Fix the housing to the motor by blocking the bell (1);
• Mount the assembly on antivibration plugs (5) making
sure that engine and generator are level.
2
Inadequate
alignment of the generator can cause
injury and/or damage to equipment.
