Fall arrest system
The FABA™ climbing protection sys-
tem is an integral part of the fall arrest
system that complies with EN 363 and
has to be assembled from the following
components:
1. FABA™ climbing protection rail
(EN 353-1)
2 . F A B A ™ f a l l a r r e s t s l i d e r
(EN 353-1) with integrated connecting
element (EN 362)
3. Harness (EN 361)

Inspection prior to use

The following parts must always be in-
spected for their serviceability and safe
state prior to use.
• Fall arrest slider (rollers, locks, springs)
• Snap-hooks
• Strap fall attenuator
• Harness and any other products that will
also be used. In this case you must abide
by the instructions given in the respective
user manual.
Fall arrest slider and snap-hooks: No
deformation, rollers, springs and locking
mechanisms are easy to access.
Locking mechanism: The locking me-
chanism (Y on page 3) on the fall preven-
tion device must always remain easy to
move (when turning, it must always fall
downwards by itself)
The locking mechanism (X on page 3)
must always be present and fi xed tight
to the locking mechanism (Y).
Feed the slider into the rail profi le and test
it to check that the locking mechanism is
pointing downwards, can be managed
easily and that it also locks correctly in
place in the groove.
Shock absorber: The shock absorber
casing must be undamaged and there
must be no signs of cracks, incisions, ab-
rasions, or burning, etc., on the webbing.
Regular inspections (revision)
The FABA™ fall arrest slider, depending on
the working conditions and how often it is
used, must be checked out by a qualifi ed
person trained and certified by Tractel
to ensure that it is in the correct working
state as necessary or at least once every
12-months. These inspections must be
recorded in the checklist, which must be
kept with the fall arrest slider.
Implementation
The use of the fall arrest slider
FABA-Klassik A11 is only permitted
in the FABA™ climbing protection
system A11.
The connec tion b etwee n the
FABA™ fall arrest slider and the
harness must not be extended nor
reduced,e.g. by adding or removing a
connecting element.
When ascending and descending it
must be ensured that the moving
catch Y is always pointing down-
wards, see page 3.
1. The fall arrest slider FABA-Klassik A11 as
well as the entire A11 system are symme-
trical. From a secure stance, the fall arrest
slider can therefore be inserted in both
directions. The 2 steel rollers run in the A11
safety profi le and the 4 plastic rollers support
the running properties of the fall arrest slider
on the outside of the profi le. Never force the
fall arrest slider into the rail.
2. Move the FABA™ fall arrest slider slightly
upwards and downwards to ensure that it
can move freely and that it also locks into
place correctly.
3. Hang and lock the FABA™ fall preven-
tion device's snap-hook into the sternal
front side fall protection fastening point
on the harness (A = sternal attachement
point, admissible fastening point on the
harness).
