1. The vent shall not terminate;
a) directly above a sidewalk or paved driveway that is located between two single - family dwellings
and severs both dwellings;
b) less that 2. 1 m (7 ft) above a paved sidewalk or a paved driveway that is located on public property;
c) within 1.8 m (6 ft) of a mechanical air-supply inlet to any building;
d) above a meter and regulator assembly within 1.8 m (6 ft) horizontally of the vertical centerline of
the regulator vent outlet to a maximum vertical distance of 4.5 m (15 ft);
e) within 1.8 mm (6 ft) of any gas service regulator vent outlet;
f) less than 300 mm (1ft) above grade level plus expected snow level;
g) within 900 mm (3 ft) of a window or door that can be opened in any building, of any non-mechani-
cal air supply inlet to any building, or of any combustion air inlet of any other appliance;
h) Underneath a veranda, porch, or deck unless;
i) the veranda, porch, or deck is fully open on a minimum of two sides beneath the floor;
ii) the distance between the top of the vent termination and the underside of the veranda, porch, or
deck is greater that 300 mm (1ft).
2. When setting terminals, where materials that may be subject to the action of the combustion pro-
ducts are present in the vicinity, e.g., eaves, gutters and downspouts painted or made of plastic mate-
rial, projecting timberwork, etc., distances of not less than 1.5 m (5 ft) must be adopted, unless ade-
quate shielding is provided to guard these materials.
