b) Curve Flight
Curves are initiated with the rudder; the model angles to the side. If the model has reached the desired inclination,
the rudder is returned into centre position. Now, the curve can be flown at a constant altitude by gently pulling the
elevator control stick.
When the model flies in the desired direction, a quick sideways deflection into the opposite direction will bring the
model back to a horizontal position and also return the elevator to the centre position. Try not to take too narrow curves
in the beginning and observe even flight height even in curves.
Important!
The rudder efficiency depends on the deflection path at the transmitter, as well as the flight speed. The
higher the flight speed, the more agilely will the model react to control commands.
Attention!
When flying, always observe sufficient minimum flight speed. With reduced flight speed, pulling on the
elevator control lever too much will cause the model to slow down and top forwards over the fuselage top or
to the side over a wing.
Therefore, fly at a sufficient safety height in the beginning in order to allow yourself to get used to the stee-
ring attitude of the model. Do not fly too far outdoors in order to be able to clearly evaluate flight attitude at
all times.
c) Trimming the Model
If your model tends to drift to one direction in straight flight, correct the neutral position of the corresponding rudder
by trimming.
Rudder:
If the model drifts or „pushes" towards the left, push the rudder trim button to the right repeatedly until the model flies
straight. If the model drifts towards the right, effect a trim correction towards the left.
Elevator:
Set the elevator trim button so that the model rises in a flat angle at full motor speed and maintains the altitude with
the motor off. If the model rises too much, push the trim button forward. If the model tries to dip down with its tip all
the time, push the trim button backwards.
The last trim value set is automatically saved and called again after related activation of the remote control.
