Connecting devices via a cable connection
The relay output is intended for connection to an isolation
amplifier with intrinsically safe output.
The behaviour of the relay output can be configured between
the NC and NO setting using the Dräger CC-Vision PC
software.

WARNING
!
The behaviour of the relay output must be taken into
account when carrying out the safety design of the
sequential switching.
It is essential that the parameters of the relay outputs
are observed to prevent the circuit from jeopardising
the intrinsic safety of the device.
Only intrinsically safe circuits are permitted for
connection. The cable shielding must only be placed
onto the isolation amplifier output. Connection XEXT2
must be used either for the relay output only or an
RS485 connection. It is not permissible to use the
connector for both purposes at the same time!
The cables used for the alarm contact must conform to
the
requirements
IEC 60079-11 and IEC 60079-14. The following cable
conforms to these standards: Belden 3107A.

The person responsible for the use of the X-zone must
prepare a system document to verify the intrinsic
safety level.
