Operation in the event of a sensor fault
In the event of a sensor fault (e.g. wire break), the
behaviour of the switchgear can be defined in
menu 4.3.2.3. The system is optionally switched
off, runs with all pumps at maximum speed or runs
with one pump at a speed settable at 4.3.5.1
(only CC-FC and CCe versions).
Operating mode of the pumps
In menu 1.1, the operating mode of the respective
pump can be specified with the PLC (manual, off,
auto) during activation. In order to function cor-
rectly, the emergency operation switch (Fig. 1 a-e;
item 8) must be in the "auto" position.
For devices of the CCe version, the speed in the
"manual" operating mode can be set in the same
menu.
Emergency operation
In the event of the control failing, there is the pos-
sibility of putting the pumps individually into
operation by means of the manual-0-auto switch
(Fig. 1a-e; item 8) on the mains (or per manual
control with individually settable speed for each
pump – only CCe version). This function has prec-
edence over the pumps being switched on by
means of the control.
Setpoint changeover
The control system can work with 3 different set-
points. These are set in menus 3.1 to 3.3.
Setpoint 1 is the reference setpoint. Switching to
setpoint 2 or 3 occurs either according to time
(menus 3.2 and 3.3) or by closing the external dig-
ital inputs (according to wiring diagram). Setpoint
3 has priority over setpoint 2 (see also logic dia-
grams at Electrical connection "Setpoint change-
over").
Remote setpoint adjustment
Remote adjustment of the setpoint is possible
using an analogue current signal (optional voltage
signal) by means of the corresponding terminals
(acc. to wiring diagram). This operational mode
can be selected in menu 3.4. The selection of the
signal type (0-20 mA or 4-20 mA; 0-10 V, or
2-10 V) also happens in this menu. The input sig-
nal is always referred to the sensor measuring
range (e.g. 16 bar sensor: 20 mA or 10 V corre-
sponds to 16 bar).

Manual control mode
Manual control mode is possible using an analogue
current signal (optional voltage signal) by means
of the corresponding terminals (acc. to wiring dia-
gram). This control mode can be selected in menu
4.3.3.4. The selection of the signal type (0-20 mA
or 4-20 mA; 0-10 V, or 2-10 V) also happens in
this menu.
The input signal is always referred to the permit-
ted frequency range (menu 4.3.5.1) (0/4 mA or
0/2 V corresponds to fmin; 20 mA or 10 V corre-
sponds to fmax).
In the CC and CC...FC versions, only single-pump
operation is possible. In the CCe version, single or
multi-pump operation can be selected in menu
4.3.3.4.
Logic reversal of the collective fault signal (SSM)
The required logic of the SSM can be set in menu
4.3.2.4. In this case, it is possible to select
between negative logic (falling edge in case of
a fault) or positive logic (rising edge in case of
a fault).
Function of the collective run signal (SBM)
The required function of the SBM can be set in
menu 4.3.2.4. In this case, it is possible to select
between "stand-by" (switchgear is operational)
and "on" (at least one pump is running).
Pipe fill
The pipe fill function can be activated (menu
4.3.3.6) to avoid pressure peaks when filling
empty pipelines or pipelines under low pressure.
In this case, the pressure decrease below the set-
table level in the above-mentioned menu is mon-
itored after a system restart (switching on of
mains voltage, external activation, drives on).
If the current pressure is below this value, only one
pump (for CC-FC and CCe versions with reduced
speed) is switched on. The device works in this
state until the pressure exceeds again the above-
mentioned level or the maximum run time (setta-
ble) of the pipe fill. Afterwards the controller
operates in automatic mode.
