B) When pulled down suddenly or let go, the runner should lock!
C) (SPEED ATTACH only) Pull the runner on the carabiner down by hand until the runner locks into the
rail. This serves as a functional check and checks the opening mechanism at the same time. This
procedure also guarantees the safe locking of the shafts. When the shafts are fully locked, a complete
green circle will appear in the indicator window at the top of the runner.
4. USE OF THE CLIMBING PROTECTION SYSTEM
°C
4.1 Observe the operating temperature range (-30°C to 45°C)
-30°C bis 45°C
4.2 In extreme conditions
which can include climatic conditions, the effect of chemicals or mechanical influences, e.g. sharp
edges, oil, ice etc., use of the fall-arrest system is not recommended
4.3 Carry out a visual check of the rail and ladder attachments before/during climbing to ensure ever-
ything is complete and in perfect condition
4.4 Rail joints must be firmly connected and the distance between joints must be max. 3 mm.
Lean slightly into the harness when climbing to keep the runner moving freely.
Climb up or down slowly and evenly and bring the runner with you. However, do not leave your hand on
the shock absorber/carabiner!
Avoid exerting diagonal pressure on the runner!
To achieve a sitting/hanging position in the harness, the runner can be manually lifted up and blocked.
This is only intended for short rests and not for working in or on the ladder.
WARNING: The runner must be locked before hanging or sitting in the harness!
The locked fall arrest system can be easily released by lifting the carabiner.
Runners must not be used as a working position. Separate PPE systems (e.g. EN 358 and EN 354/355)
should be used for this purpose.
Before removing the runner, ensure you have a secure footing on a platform and, in areas where there is
a risk of falling, fall arrest lanyards (e.g. EN 354 / 355) attached to a suitable anchor point.
For use by more than one person, the minimum distance of 5m must not be exceeded.

During the first few metres of ascent (<3m from the floor or platform), please take extra care as protecti-
on against impact will not be guaranteed.
When working above structures, always ensure there is plenty of space under the user's feet at all times.
The system should only ever be used in accordance with the established conditions of use and for the
intended purpose.
Activating the release function of the runner or fiddling with the runner during ascent or descent may
hinder the safe functioning of the brake mechanism.
No objects, such as tool bags, are permitted to hang in front of the body under the runner.
