2.3 Marking and Labelling Required to be installed by the Operator
The operator is required to apply other signs and labels to the welding fumes filter
or in its proximity.
These signs and labels may be subject to e.g. regulations on the use of personal
protective equipment.
2.4 Safety Instructions for the Operating Personnel
Before using the welding fumes filter the user must be informed about handling of the
device and the materials and tools via information, instructions and training.
The welding fumes filter may only be used in perfect condition, in accordance with its
purpose of use, subject to the safety requirements and taking into account all-
hazards and this manual! All errors, especially those that may jeopardize safety,
must be rectified immediately!
Any person responsible for commissioning, operation or maintenance of the device
must be made thoroughly familiar with this manual and understand its content,
– in particular the paragraph 2 Safety. During operation of the device it is already late
for this This applies especially to personnel who work with the welding fumes filter
only occasionally.
Instruction manual must always be at hand near the welding fumes filter.
We shall not be liable for any damages and accidents caused by failure to comply
with this manual.
It is necessary to observe the accident prevention regulations, as well as other
generally accepted safety and occupational health rules.
It is also necessary to clearly specify and observe the competences with respect to
various activities within the framework of maintenance and repairs. This is the only
way to avoid failures – especially in dangerous situations.
The operator is obliged to bind service and maintenance personnel to use personal
protective equipment. These include safety footwear, safety glasses and gloves.
The personnel must not have loose hair, loose clothing or wear jewellery! Otherwise,
in principle there is a danger of persons being trapped or drawn by moving parts of
the unit!
In case of any modifications to the welding fumes filter relevant for safety, carry out
immediate stop and ensure exhaustion. Always report such event in the appropriate
place/to the appropriate person immediately!
Works on the welding fumes filter may only be carried out by reliable and trained
staff. It is necessary to observe the legal minimum age limit!
Trainees, apprentices or other staff being trained or instructed may manipulate with
the welding fumes filter only under constant supervision of an experienced person!
Connection of the welding power supply (UVV VBG / Occupational accident
prevention regulations / 15, section 43, paragraph 1) must be made so that
the protective conductor of the welding fumes filter is not energized by faulty
