DESCRIPTION
Electronic control unit for level control of one (AD) or two (BD)
d.o.l. starting explosion-protected submersible pump(s).
NOTICE! It is imperative that separate dry running protection
is installed.
10
This control unit meets ATEX requirements for level detection
monitoring and limitation of motor temperature and pump run-
time.
The control unit incorporates mains-dependent LED failure
indicators and an acknowledgeable alarm buzzer to indicate
faults. Two potential-free centralised alarm contacts can be
used as additional remote failure indicators. An optional 9V re-
chargeable battery can also be fitted to sustain an alarm facil-
ity even if a power cut occurs. The battery pack can supply the
alarm system with power for about one hour of continuous use.
The level is determined by two dynamic pressure circuits fitted
with pressure switches, each with 10 m air hose plus a pressure
sensor in the collecting chamber.
The first dynamic pressure system switches the pump on and
off (cut-off with shut-off delay).
The second system reports unacceptably high wastewater lev-
els. In single units, the emergency switch-on is activated. In
duplex units, the standby pump is switched on. After the water
level has dropped by about 50 mm, the high-water alarm and
the standby pump are switched off again.
If the shut-off delay has been set correctly, the pump contin-
ues to operate until the pressure sensor has surfaced com-
pletely and is switched off before it can draw air. An integrated
dry-running protection float switch (TLS) causes the pump to
be shut-down safely even in the event of a failure.
For duplex pump units the power-up sequence of pump 1 and
pump 2 alternates automatically after every base-load pump-
ing process. The resting pump is switched on in the event of
high water or a pump fault.
Duplex units can be operated optionally without peak-load
function (no parallel pump operation), but with automatic
switch-over to the standby pump in the event of a pump fault.
(Only AD...) After a power cut the pumps are switched on with a
time delay. The micro-switch on the printed circuit board must
be set to ON to enable this. This automatic safety feature is
to prevent all pumping stations from starting up at the same
time, resulting in large current peaks.
EMC
Provided that our standard submersible pumps and accesso-
ries are used, and these are installed as specified and put to
the use for which they were intended, our control units meet
the protective requirements of the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU,
and is suitable for use in domestic and commercial areas of the
public power supply network. When connected to an industrial
mains supply in an industrial plant with the power supply pro-
vided by a company-owned high-voltage transformer, it is to be
expected that there will be insufficient immunity to interfer-
ence.
OPERATION
NOTICE! Operate the control in dry rooms only and keep the
housing closed at all times.
Automatic operation
Automatic operation is the normal operating mode of the unit.
The Manual-0-Automatic selector switches for the pump must
be set to the "Automatic" position for this operating mode. De-
pending on the wastewater level in the collecting chamber,
