V3,V4 OUTLET BALL VALVES
Unit is equipped with two outlet ball valves V3 and V4 that open or close the reduced gas
pressure supplied into the pipeline.
M2 GAUGES
Outlet side of the unit is equipped with outlet gauge M2. This gauge shows parameter of gas
pressure supplied to the outlet points. If the product is equipped with a contact gauge than the
gauge sends information about the set pressure to the gas alarm unit.
O1 OUTLET CONNECTION
Reduced gas is distributed through outlet connection O1 to the pipeline and used at the hospital
outlet points. Outlet is equipped with G1/2" male thread, soldering adapter is included.
S1 SAFETY VALVE
At the variant without safety valve there is allowance of the max. inlet pressure up to 10 bar. Inlet
gauge M1 indicates the inlet pressure. At the variant with safety valve there is ensured that in
case of malfunction the gas pressure distributed into the pipeline will not exceed 10 bar.
E1 MANUAL DRAIN OF THE SAFETY VALVE
Safety valve (S1) is equipped with manual drain (E1) for simulation of the safety valve function.
Outlet pipe of the manual drain (E1) must be ventilated outside of the building.
C2, C3 QUICK COUPLERS ACCORDING TO NATIONAL STANDARD
Product may contain two quick couplers according to national standard. Position of the quick
coupler may vary depending on the product variant - either position C2 or C3. Quick coupler
can be used as an Emergency inlet to supply gas to reduction unit from the high pressure gas
cylinders equipped with gas pressure regulator in compliance with the medical directive, or as
connection for the gas analyser to measure quality of gas in the pipeline.
T2, T3 GAS PRESSURE SENSORS
Sensors are installed at the outlet side of the manifold. Main function of sensors is to observe
the distributed gas pressure parameters and in case the top or bottom parameter is exceeded,
sensor sends information to the gas alarm unit. Variant with the transmitter has only one sensor
and second inlet is plugged. Gas transmitter communicate directly with the gas alarm unit that
evaluates information about received gas pressure parameter.

6. INSTALLATION
* Gas reduction unit must be installed, the parameters should be set and tested in a room with
a minimum temperature of 10 °C.
It is used according to the operating conditions listed in Chapter 3.
It is necessary that an installer of the product is trained and has an appropriate licence ac-
cording to national standards. It is outside the scope of these operating instructions to give
detailed guidance on installations.
The installation must conform to the standard MEDICAL GAS PIPELINE SYSTEMS EN ISO
7396-1 as amended. All tests according to this standard have to be fulfi lled.
When working with medical gases it is essential that no oil or grease come into contact with
the gas. This means that hands, tools and work clothes must be free from oil or grease before
any work is undertaken. Components used for service must be gas compatible. For oxygen
service all components must also be de-greased and although they will reach you in this con-
dition care must be taken during storage and handling
