3. 3. Mains connection

Welding equipment need appropriate current supply and
sufficient power to work at full capacity. The whole range is
prepared to work with certified generators that comply with the
regulations and operate properly. Power to be supplied is at

3.5. Limitations to environmental conditions

Equipment shall be installed respecting their IP21 class; this
means that the equipment is protected at the most against
vertical impact of water drops and access to dangerous parts
with one finger against solid foreign bodies of 12.5 mm ø or
larger.

The equipment is prepared for working within a temperature
range from -15OC to 70OC, taking into account the limitation of a
decrease in performance (duty cycle) as of ambient temperatures
above 40OC.

4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

4.1 Positioning and testing

Any model of this equipment is turned on by operating switch No.
4. Before turning equipment on, check safety and comply with
your risk prevention in the workplace, and carry out the functions
explained below as a function of the machine's service time.

4.1.1 Shielded Metal Arc Welding (MMA)

Connect ground cable No. 2 to machine connector No. 6. And
connect the ground clamp to the workpiece. Make sure that
there is a good electric contact on a solid and clean surface.
Connect cables of the electrode carrier clamp No. 3 of the
machine No. 5. Connect the electrode to the electrode carrier
clamp making sure that it fits into the directional slots.
Note: the electrode is almost always connected to the positive
terminal (reverse polarity). But under certain circumstances
it is to be connected the negative one (direct polarity) as it is
usually the case of the base electrode. Refer to the electrode
documentation to be sure.
4.1.1.1 M40.18Multi / MIG180Multi and M40.20Multi
/ MIG200Multi
Push switch No. 11 to MMA mode ("O"). The equipment is now
regulated by amperage control No. 12 only.
4.1.1.2. Models M60.25M/M60.65T
Turn equipment on. Push switch No. 22 until the Display shows
the indicator "Current". Adjust amperage and the arc-force factor
by means of group 17.
Models MIG 250M/MIG250T
Turn equipment on. Push switch 35. Adjust amperage by means
of 31.
Generally, set a low arc-force value for rutile electrodes, a
medium one for base and a high one for cellulosic.
4.1.1.3. Models M60.35/MIG350T and M60.50/
MIG500T
Turn equipment on. Push switch No. 22 until only the ampere
value is shown on Display No. 15. Adjust by means of group 17.

4.1.2 TIG Welding

It is necessary that you obtain a TIG torch (5ref. 4120.81) the
gas of which is governed at the handle of the torch. Connect the
TIG torch to connector No. 6 and ground to connector No. 5 of
the machine (direct polarity).

Multi/MIG200Multi
Push switch No. 13 to MMA mode ("O"). The equipment is now
regulated by means of amperage control No. 12 only.
