Operating and Maintenance Instruction FCU 8000-1 series

6.2 Hydraulic connection and commissioning

Warning:
regulations relating to work with pressurized fluids must therefore be
fully complied with!
Warning: The order prescribed must be followed absolutely.
· Connect the return line hose (DN7) to the outlet connection on the back and place
other end in a suitable reservoir, e.g. hydraulic tank or any other container.
· Set the front panel flow control valve to position 5.
· Check system pressure of the hydraulic system to be measured. It must be in the
permissible range for the pressure connection (Inlet, 1 - 350 bar).
The minimum inlet pressure required at a given viscosity to achieve a flow rate
of 50 ml/min can be obtained from the graphs under Point 16 Technical
specifications. As the contamination of the filter element increases, so too
does the required inlet pressure.
· Connect the high pressure hose to the FCU first.
· Then secondly connect the other end of the high pressure hose to the Minimess
connection of the hydraulic system.
Warning: as soon as the pressure inlet hose is connected to the system, oil
flows through the FCU. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that connections
are carried out in the above order. The return line connection (Outlet) must
never be shut-off !
Press"START" - key. Set flow rate to approx. 50 ml/min. If an error message appears in
the LCD display, turn the flow control valve in the relevant direction until the error
message disappears and measuring starts automatically.
