Operating
instructions
Before starting to use the
device, it is essential that
the Operating Instructions
and „Important Notes" be
read carefully!
Control panel
d
a
e
f
b
c
a = Off
b = Cooling, low
c = Cooling, high
d = Heating
e = Yellow LED
f = Green LED
The yellow LED illuminates if
„Cooling" (b or c) has been
selected at the control panel
and the room temperature
is less than 20°C (compres-
sor does not switch on until
room temperature exceeds
20°C, LED goes off).
The green LED illuminates if
„Heating" (d) or „Cooling"
(b or c) has been selected at
the control panel.
Cooling mode
1. Move control panel switch
to „b" for cooling at slow fan
speed or „c" for cooling at
fast fan speed.
The interior air fan starts im-
mediately and the green LED
illuminates. The compressor
starts approximately 2 minutes
later.
2. Set thermostat tempera-
ture individually (wide blue
bar – maximum cooling).
When the temperature se-
lected at the control panel
is reached the compressor
switches off and the interior
air fan continues to run.
6
The compressor does not
run at room temperatures of
less than 20°C and the yellow
LED on the control panel
illuminates.
Heating mode
1. Move control panel switch
to „d".
The green LED on the con-
trol panel illuminates after
switching on. The compres-
sor starts after approx. 2 min-
utes and the interior air fan
starts at slow speed after an
additional 30 seconds.
2. Set thermostat tempera-
ture individually (wide red bar
– maximum heating power).
Defrosting
Ice formation on the heat
exchanger can affect the
cooling and heating power
of the equipment. The Truma
Frostair 3200 RC is de-iced
automatically.
When de-icing starts, the
compressor and the outside
air fan briefly switch off and
then switch on again. The
interior air fan does not run
during the entire procedure
(approx. 6 minutes).
When de-icing is complete
the equipment switches back
to normal operation.
Switching of
Move control panel switch
to „a".
Notes on use of
air condition unit
The Truma Frostair 3200 RC
has been designed for sta-
tionary operation in mobile
homes (statics).
– The equipment is designed
to have low power consump-
tion. You should still check
whether your mobile home
(static) has adequate fuse
protection (min. 16 A).
– The cooling and heating
power depends on:
• Size of room
• mobile homes (statics)
insulation
• Size and type of windows
• Interior ventilation
Cooling mode:
– Ventilate well before start-
ing the equipment in order to
remove accumulated warm
air from room.
– To create a healthy envi-
ronment on the inside of the
vehicle, the difference be-
tween the inside and outside
temperatures should not be
selected as too great. Dur-
ing operation the circulated
air will be purified and dried.
Due to the drying of the
moist, humid air, a pleasant
environment will be created
inside even with slight tem-
perature differences.
– Keep the doors and win-
dows closed while the cool-
ing system is in operation.
– Darkening the interior with
window blinds and/or a roof
awning will reduce the pen-
etration of radiant heat.
Heating mode:
– Heating is only possible at
temperatures above + 3°C.
Important Notes
Repairs may only be
carried out by properly
qualified professionals!
Remove and dispose of oil
and refrigerant properly
before scrapping the equip-
ment.
1. To avoid damage during
transport, the device must
only be dispatched after
discussion with the Truma
Service department (see
page 22).
2. The voltage must be dis-
connected at all poles before
the housing is opened.
3. The appliance fuse, 230 V,
3,15 A (slow-acting, IEC 127)
is located on the electronic
control unit in the device, and
may only be replaced by a
fuse of the same design.
Appliance fuses and connec-
tion leads may only be re-
placed by a properly qualified
person.
4. Any modification to the
device, or the use of spare
parts and functionally-impor-
tant accessories which are
not original Truma compo-
nents, or failure to respect
the Installation and Operating
Instructions, will lead to the
cancellation of the guarantee
and to the ex clusion of claims
for liability.
5. The cooling circuit contains
the cooling agent R 407C,
and may only be opened by a
properly qualified person.
6. The cold air outlet and the
ambient air suction intake
must not on any account be
obstructed. Please bear this
in mind in order to ensure the
trouble-free operation of your
device.
7. If the bottom of the mobile
home is being panelled with
aprons or boards, adequately
sized openings must be
provided for the air supply
and exhaust. Otherwise the
performance of the air condi-
tioning unit will be adversely
affected.
Maintenance
Located on the front side of
the unit is a fluff filter (g) for
cleaning the air in the room.
g
The fluff filter (g) must be
cleaned at regular intervals
and replaced if necessary
(Part no. 40040-28100).
The device must
never be operated
without the filter. Without
a filter the evaporator will
become dirty, which in turn
will impair the performance
of the device.
The condensation drains
are on the underside of the
equipment (page C, fig. B/D,
item KO). In order to allow the
condensation to drain away
freely it must be checked at
regular intervals whether the
drains are free of dirt and
the like. Failure to do this
may allow condensation to
penetrate the interior!
