Intended Use

The Boston Scientific Distal 4 (D4) and
Wide 4 (W4) Splitter 2x4 may be used
to connect multiple Linear™ leads to the
Boston Scientific stimulator for spinal cord
stimulation. Up to two Linear leads may be
inserted into each Splitter. Each Splitter
connects to one stimulator port. Four of the
eight contacts of each Linear lead will be
activated.
This insert describes information pertaining
to programming using the D4 and W4 Splitter
2x4. For complete programming instructions,
refer to the Bionic Navigator
For surgical implantation instructions, refer to
the Physician Lead Manual.

Splitter Wiring Scheme and
Configuration in Bionic
Navigator
When a Splitter is used, select "Linear lead"
in the Bionic Navigator configuration screen
for each stimulator port that has a Splitter
connected to it. The 8-contact Linear lead
graphical display must be interpreted as
two 4-contact leads as follows: contacts 1-4
correspond to the 4 active contacts of the
Linear lead connected to the shorter Splitter
branch, and contacts 5-8 correspond to the 4
active contacts of the Linear lead connected
to the longer Splitter branch.
Active contacts 1, 2, 3, and 4 of each Lead
connected to the D4 Splitter 2x4 model will
be represented by the top four contacts and
bottom four contacts in Bionic Navigator,
respectively.
Active contacts 1, 3, 5, and 8 of each Lead
connected to the W4 Splitter 2x4 model will
be represented by the top four contacts and
bottom four contacts in Bionic Navigator,
respectively.
