General Instructions
Please read through the entire instructions for use carefully. They
contain important information on the following: Purpose, indications,
contraindications, handling, care and disposal.
Keep the instructions for use. You may wish to read them again at a
later point in time.
If you have any questions, please contact the doctor treating you, the
medical supply store or the medi Consumer Service.
Purpose and use
Compression therapy aids include, among other items, medical
compression stockings which are manufactured in different lengths,
compression classes and with different knitting methods. Compression
stockings are used for a variety of purposes, including* treating venous
disorders and conditions and for treating oedema caused by
lymphoedema and lipoedema.
Medi lymph pads are used as an accessory for therapy with medical
compression stockings.
There are three usage possibilities. Use the medi lymph pads to:
1. Distribute the stocking's compression pressure evenly over a large
area requiring support or
2. Boost compression pressure at a certain point, for example:
3. For providing relief for areas of fibrosis within tissue (fibrosis is the
formation of excess connective tissue where the tissue fibres adhere
to each other).
Single sheets of medi lymph pads are used by experts (i.e. medical
specialist retailers and therapists) for a variety of individual needs, cut
to fit the size required for therapy and either
- inserted into the compression product without being attached to it or
- attached to the compression stocking or sock by the manufacturer
once the expert has determined the precise position for it. They
remain in the stocking during their use for compression treatment
(max. 6 months), this means that they are also washed and dried as
normal with the stocking - for more detailed information, please refer
to the care instructions.
*See medi and/or mediven instructions for use for indications, relative
and absolute contraindications for treatment utilizing medical
compression stockings.
Indications

• connective tissue fibres that have adhered to each other in (fibrotic)
lymphoedema, from stage II.
• pitting oedema, i.e. with pain on pressure around the malleolus
• lymphostasis or lymphoedema subjacent to lipoedema
Relative contraindications
Do not use to increase pressure in one area for patients with peripheral
artery disease and/or polyneuropathy
Mode of action
A complement for treatment of oedema
• stimulates microcirculation
• increases lymph drainage
• relieves fibrosis
• boosts lymph formation
The compression pressure will be distributed from the dominant area
(i.e. ankle, side of the hand or foot) towards the hand's surface, the
ankle cavities or either side of the Achilles tendon by means of the
padding.
