(4) When cutting short workpieces, install the
joining bar between the Repetitive Stops.
Use the rulers to position each stop. Do not
depend on the joining bar to align the stops.
When adjusting the position of the joined
stops, move both simultaneously to
prevent binding.
ATTENTION:
The dovetail pins on the ends of the joining bar and
the slots in the stop bodies are tapered. Install and remove the joining bar
from the top.
ATTENTION:
Use the joining bar to support workpieces 3" to
16" long. Support the guide track with scrap the same thickness as the
workpiece when cutting pieces less than 16" long or less than 5" wide.
ATTENTION:
When making cuts less than 1" wide, support the
guide track with scrap stock the same thickness as the workpiece to keep
the track from tipping or deflecting and exercise caution while cutting. Do
not attempt to cut a workpiece less than 3" long.
(5) When cutting, always have three points
of support, using two Repetitive Stops plus
one Versa-Stop or one Repetitive Stop plus
two Versa-stops. Always position at least
one Versa-Stop at the outfeed end of the
workpiece to counter forward pressure
exerted by the saw.
ATTENTION:
For large workpieces, use two wide-set Versa-Stops
to align the workpiece as you slide it under the track.
