Laboratory glassware and utensils

Items with wide necks, e.g. glass beakers, wide-necked Erlenmeyer
flasks and petri dishes, or cylindrical items, e.g. test tubes, can be
cleaned and rinsed inside and out using rotating spray arms.
Load wide-necked glassware with the open side facing downwards.
The laboratory glassware must not hinder the reprocessing of other
items and must be secured so that it cannot be flipped over by the
force of water during reprocessing. Secure light items with a cover
net such as the A 810 or reprocess them in mesh trays with lids.
If laboratory glassware is placed with the open side facing up-
wards, suds solution can collect in it. This can spill and impair re-
processing results.
Special inserts should be used if necessary for reprocessing labor-
atory glassware and utensils. Various inserts for use with different
items can be purchased from Miele.
Some examples are given below.
Special inserts are available for reprocessing watch glasses, e.g. the
E 403 for up to 105 watch glasses.
Reprocess small items such as stoppers, lids, spatulas, magnetic stir-
ring rods, etc. in mesh trays with lids, e.g. the E 146. Alternatively a
mesh tray with a sufficiently large cover net can be used.
