vessel.
The connecting piece hole is created by sawing away the bottom
of the base or using a suitable circular cutter (FIG 9). Remove burrs
and other superfluous material. Carefully make the connections
using a hose and hose clamps or standard Konfix connectors.
5.1.3 Draining cellars
A pump sump is to be installed for the automatic drainage of all
sewage lifting unit installation zones (FIG. 10).
- Install the pump (ref. 4) according to the unit's delivery head. The
minimum dimensions of the trench in the floor of the installation
zone are : 500 x 500 x 500 mm.
- A three-way valve (FIG. 10 - ref. 6) allows both manual draining of
the pump and the pump sump using the manual diaphragm
pump by switching over (FIG. 10 - ref. 5)
Example of installation (FIG. 10)
1 : Ventilation pipe
2 : Inlet
3 : Reflux level (generally street level)
4 : Drainage pump
5 : Manual diaphragm pump
6 : Three-way valve

5.2 Electrical connection

All electrical connections must be completed by a qualified
and licensed electrician in strict compliance with local
regulations.
- Check that the mains current and voltage comply with the data
on the rating plate.
- Mains fuse
- The pump/installation must be earthed in compliance with the
applicable regulations.
- The use of a residual current operating device of ≤ 30 mA in
accordance with current national regulations is recommended.
- Install the switchgear and alarm in a dry, flood-proof room.
- Ensure the supply to the alarm switch is separate in accordance
with its rating plate data. Connect the alarm switch.
- Compare the set value of the motor safety switch (3~ version) with
the nominal current of the motor (see table 1.2.2. Connection and
Performance Data) and correct if necessary.
5.2.1 Alimentation secteur
LIFTSON M-V (1~) (FIG. 11)
L, N, PE :
Main connection 1~230 V, PE Model : switchgear with shock-proof
plug for socket.
LIFTSON M-2V (1~) (FIG. 12)
L, N, PE :
Main connection 1~230 V, PE Model : Construction model:
switchgear with feed clamps.
LIFTSON M-V (3~), LIFTSON L-V (3~) (FIG. 13)
L1, L2, L3, PE :
Main connection 3~400 V, PE Model : switchgear with EEC plug for
EEC socket .
LIFTSON M-2V (3~), LIFTSON L-2V (3~) (FIG. 14)
L1, L2, L3, PE :
Main connection 3~400 V, PE Model : switchgear with EEC plug for
EEC socket.
AC model LIFTSON M (1~230 V) is designed for operation on a power
supply with a system impedance at the private connection point of
Zmax = 0.096 Ohm with a maximum number of 30 switching
operations per hour in accordance with DIN EN / IEC 61000-3-11.
If the supply impedance and the number of switching operations
per hour exceed the aforementioned values the pump may cause
transient voltage reductions and interfering voltage fluctuations, or
"flicker", as a result of the unfavourable supply conditions.

Measures may therefore be required before the pump can be
operated properly using such a connection. Relevant information is
to be obtained from the local electricity supplier and the pump
manufacturer.
5.2.2 Connecting the alarm
LIFTSON M and L are factory-fitted with an acoustic alarm in the
switchgear. An external alarm, horn or flashing light can be fitted
using a potential-free contact.
Permissible contact load:
• minimum : 12 V C. C., 10 mA,
• maximum : 250 V C. A., 1 A.
Connection of external alarm signal:
Remove the mains plug !
- Lift the switchgear lid.
- Remove the protective cover from the cable gland.
- Connect the cable to the floating alarm contact as shown in the
switching diagram.
- Once the alarm cable has been successfully connected, close the
switchgear lid and tighten the cable screw.
- Re-connect the mains plug.
ATTENTION !
or 250 mm (dual units M-2V or L-2V) above the top of the unit's
installation surface. Please take this into account if the unit alarm is
also intended to protect drainage objects that are relatively low
(e.g. floor drains).
6. OPERATION
: 16 A
: 20 A
The unit may only be put into operation once the relevant regional
regulations have been satisfied.
- Remove the float switch transport safety device by opening the
inspection cover on the vessel and removing the adhesive tape
from the float; check that the float arm is easily accessible.
- Check that all of the necessary connections have been correctly
made (inlets, pressure pipe with shut-off fittings, ventilation, floor
fixing, electrical connection).
- Check the position of the ventilation screws. The head of the screw
must be at least 25 mm from the sealing flange on the backflow
preventer (factory setting), otherwise there is a risk that the valve
will not close or will be destroyed, and also that loud noise will be
generated.
Remove the mains plug !
Lift the switchgear lid.
- Remove the battery. Connect the plug to the battery. Check the
polarity is correct. Replace the battery.
The storage battery must be fully charged or have been in the
switchgear for 24 hours when the unit is switched on.
- Close the switchgear lid.
- Connect the power supply.
- Switch the unit on at the switchgear (ON/OFF switch).
- Open the shut-off fittings.
- Continue to fill the unit until the pump has run two complete cycles
or the pressure piping is completely full. The manual/automatic
button can also be pressed for a test run before the ON level is
reached.
- Ensure that the pump and pipe connections are hermetic and
check that the pump is running smoothly, i.e. that there are no
severe impacts to the flap trap when the pump(s) is/are switched
on and off.
- Direction of rotation check (3~ only) :
If the phase sequence is incorrect, the red light on the switchgear
will come on.
In this case the phase inverter in the EEC plug should be tightened
24
The alarm indicator is activated if the level in the
vessel reaches 200 mm (single units M-V or L-V)
