3. Place a combination square (not supplied)
against the blade and the table and check
to see if the blade is 45° to the table
(Fig. 22).
4. If the blade is not at 45°, use a 10mm
wrench (not supplied) to adjust the bevel-
stop bolt. While turning the bolt, watch the
blade bevel. Turn the bolt until the saw
blade is in alignment with the 45° side of
the combination square's head.
Squaring the blade to the fence
1. Loosen the slide-rail lock knob, then slide
the head assembly completely to the
back and tighten the slide-rail lock knob
securely.
2. Loosen the bevel-lock knob and set the
head assembly at 0° bevel (blade set 90°
to the miter table). Then tighten the bevel-
lock knob.
3. Pull the head assembly all the way down
and engage the lock pin to hold the head
assembly in the transport position.
4. Engage the miter detent at the 0° position
(See "Miter-angle adjustment"). Then
press down on the miter-lock lever firmly until you hear a "click", to secure the miter table.
5. Lay a combination square (not supplied) flat on the miter table. Place one leg of the square
against the fence. Slide the other leg of the square against the flat part of saw blade.
Make sure that the combination square contacts the flat part of the saw blade,

not the blade teeth.
6. The edge of the square and the saw blade should be parallel. (Fig. 23).
7. If the front or back edge of the saw blade angles away from the square, adjustments are
needed (Fig. 23a & 23b).
