16 Repairing
16.1
Repairing pruning shears, bat‐
tery and charger
The pruning shears, cutting blade, battery and
charger cannot be repaired by the user.
► If the pruning shears or cutting blades are
damaged: Do not use the pruning shears or
cutting blades and contact a STIHL authorized
dealer for assistance.
► If the battery is defective or damaged: Replace
the battery.
► If the charger is defective or damaged:
Replace the charger.
► If the connecting cable is defective or dam‐
aged: Do not use the charger and have the
connecting cable replaced by a STIHL author‐
ized dealer.
16.2
Replacing the cutting and anvil
blades
► Switch on the pruning shears.
► Press and hold the pushbutton
beep sounds.
The display switches off, and the pruning
shears are switched off. The cutting blade
remains open.
► Remove the battery.

► Unscrew the screws (1).
► Remove the cover (2).

► Loosen the screw (3).
► Unscrew the adjusting nut (5).
► Remove bearing pin (4).

► Remove locking segment (6).
► Remove and dispose of the cutting blade (7).
► If the anvil blade (8) needs to be replaced:
► Take out the screw (3) and washer (9).
► Remove and dispose of the anvil blade (8).
► Fit the new anvil blade (8) in position.
► Insert the screw (3) and washer (9) and
tighten the screw so that the washer (9) can
still be turned.
► Insert new cutting blade (7).
► Insert locking segment (6).

► Insert bearing pin (4) into the bearing position
of the new cutting blade.
► Lubricate the cutting and anvil blades.
► Screw in the adjusting nut (5) and tighten so
that the cutting blade (7) can no longer be
moved sideways in relation to the anvil
blade (8) and the cutting blade (7) can still
easily slide past the anvil blade (8) without
play.
► Tighten the screw (3).
The indentations on the washer(9) and the
adjusting nut (5) must interlock.

► Fit the cover (2) in position.
► Insert the screws (1) and tighten them.
