► Press and hold the pushbutton
beep sounds.
The display switches on, and the pruning
shears are ready for operation.
► Press trigger twice in quick succession.
You will hear three short beeps. The cutting
blade opens fully.
► Depress the trigger.
The cutting blade closes and opens.
► If the cutting blade does not close and open:
Remove the battery and contact a STIHL
authorized dealer.
The pruning shears are defective.

Checking the battery
► Insert the battery.
► Press and hold the pushbutton
beep sounds.
The pruning shears are ready for operation,
and the display switches on.
► If the display does not switch on: Do not use
the pruning shears and battery and contact a
STIHL authorized dealer for assistance.
There is an error in the pruning shears or bat‐
tery.

10.1
Holding and controlling the
pruning shears
► Hold the pruning shears firmly with one hand
on the control handle. Wrap your thumb
around the handle and operate the trigger with
your index finger.
► Keep your free hand well away from the cut‐
ting blade.
10.2
Adjusting blade opening width
Depending on the branch thickness, two cutting
blade opening widths can be set (19 mm/25
mm). The configured cutting blade opening width
is shown in the display with a white illuminated
symbol.

► Press trigger (1) and hold for 3 seconds until a
short beep sounds.
The cutting blade opening width increases or
decreases. The white illuminated symbol in
the display switches over.

The pruning shears are subject to comprehen‐
sive quality tests by STIHL before delivery.
Therefore a few cuts are already shown in the
display upon delivery.
► Position the anvil blade (2) against the under‐
side of the branch.
■ The moving cutting blade can seriously injure
the user.
► Keep your free hand at least 40 cm away
► Never touch the cutting blade.
► Pull the trigger (3).
The cutting blade (1) closes and the branch is
cut. The cutting blade (1) then opens automat‐
ically.
The cutting blade can jam during cutting work. A
jammed blade opens automatically.
