8. Operation

CAUTION:
Users could possibly experience mild
bleeding of the gums during the first
days of electric toothbrush usage.
Should the bleeding continue over sev-
eral days, a dentist should be consulted.
If you have had dental surgery in the
last two months, consult a dentist before
using the toothbrush.
Exert only light pressure when brushing
to prevent damage to the gums and to
increase the service life of the bristles.

8.1 Modes

The toothbrush 6 has 3 different modes. De-
pending on the desired mode, press the on/
off switch
 11 1, 2 or 3 times while
switched off:
-
1x: normal mode
- the red LED 13 is lit.
- for cleaning teeth with high pulsation
-
2x: sensitive mode
- the blue LED 14 is lit.
- gentle brushing for cleaning teeth
with sensitive gums
NOTE: if you are not used to using an elec-
tric toothbrush and you have comparatively
sensitive gums, you can use this mode for
the first 1 to 2 weeks, and then switch to nor-
mal mode later.

3x: massage mode
- the green LED 15 is lit.
- pulsing brushing to massage your
gums

8.2 Brushing teeth

1. Remove the toothbrush 6 from the bat-
tery charger 9.
2. Moisten the bristles, squeeze some
toothpaste on and switch on the tooth-
brush 6 only when the brush head 2 is
already in your mouth.
3. Depending on the desired mode, press
the on/off switch
- red LED 13: normal mode
- blue LED 14: sensitive mode
- green LED 15: massage mode
4. Slowly guide the brush head 2 from
tooth to tooth without exerting too much
pressure. Carefully clean all tooth sur-
faces, the inner surfaces of the teeth
and the tooth edges.
Figure C: the recommended brushing
time is at least 2 minutes, divided up
into 30-second periods for each area of
the mouth (bottom right, bottom left, top
right, top left). The toothbrush 6 indi-
cates these intervals with 2 brief inter-
ruptions. After 2 minutes there are
several short interruptions to indicate
that the recommended brushing time
has been reached.
5. Press the on/off switch
ly until the toothbrush 6 is switched off.
Remove the brush head 2 from the
mouth only when the toothbrush 6 has
been switched off.
NOTES:
We recommend that you replace the
toothbrush heads 3 every 3 months or
after infections (see "Ordering tooth-
brush heads" on page 11).
Figure B: the indicator bristles 16 on
the brush head 2 slowly lose their col-
our during use. The decolouration
shows when the toothbrush heads 3
should be replaced.
