Basic Information Relevant to the Control of
Model Helicopters
Before you fly your model, you should first familiarise yourself with the control possibilities open to you and thereby be
able to fly safely. The model helicopter is controlled via the two control sticks at the remote control transmitter.
The following functions are available:

Pitch Function

With the pitch function you can control the flying height of the helicopter (see figure 23). The left control stick (also see
figure 1, item 14) is used for control. To that effect, the control stick can be moved forward and backward. Unlike the
other control functions, the lever does not keep springing back to the centre position.
The 3D switch (see figure 1, item 4) must not be activated and must be in the front position „0".
Depending on the control stick position, the angle of attack of the rotor blades changes. If the control stick is pulled all
the way to the body, the rotor blades show the lowest positive angle of attack.
If the control stick is pushed all the way to the front, the rotor blades have the maximum positive angle of attack. In
parallel to this, the control stick also controls the motor output from 0 to 100%.
If you push the control stick from the bottom position forward, the main rotor runs and increases the speed according
to the position of the stick.
Once the control stick is in a little above the centre position (approx. 60% control path), the main rotor speed and the
angle of attack of the rotor blades should be high enough for the helicopter to hover.
On demand, the required values for the pitch function can be set individually and smoothly with the pitch controller
(see figure 1, item 2).
In parallel to the main rotor, the tail rotor speed is automatically controlled by a percentage via the gear.
