Attention, important!
If you operate the helicopter in the AVCS mode, it will save the direction in which the model is currently
pointing after connection of the rechargeable battery. If you carry the model to the starting point then and
turn it into another direction around its vertical axis, the gyro will independently turn the helicopter back into
the original direction right after taking off, just as it was aligned when connecting the rechargeable battery.
For this reason, set the gyro sensitivity to 0% and then to 80% again before lift-off to maintain the current
alignment of the tail rotor.
e) Checking the Gyro Sensitivity in Flight
If you have no experience with model helicopters yet, you should let an experienced model pilot make this setting.
Otherwise, work with a gyro sensitivity of 80% from the beginning in AVCS mode. Once you have securely mastered
the model in hover flight, you can also perform the settings for gyro optimisation yourself.
• Switch the transmitter on and launch the receiver system in the model helicopter. The control lever for the tail func-
tion and the associated trim slider must be in the centre position.
• After initialisation, switch the gyro into standard mode at approach 80% gyro sensitivity. The tail servo and tail rotor
now have to be set to the neutral position. The control LED at the gyro will not be lit in this setting.
• Now let the helicopter to take off carefully and correct turn of the tail using the tail rotor trimming.
• After landing, set the tail rotor linkage rods so that the tail will stably maintain its position in flight and the trim slider
at the transmitter is in the centre position again.
• Then switch the gyro to AVCS mode with approx. 80% gyro sensitivity as well and check the flight behaviour of the
model helicopter. Then increase the gyro sensitivity in small steps until the tail of the helicopter starts oscillating up
(quickly moves back and forth). If you reduce the gyro sensitivity a little until the pendulum effect disappears now,
you have set the best gyro sensitivity.
