eThe "dr" code can be programmed only
once a program.
eSince the "dr" code is counted as one

"dr"
code
is pro-
grammed, up to 18 tunes (i.e. one less
than usual) can be programmed.
Note:
Recording precorded tapes, records, or
other
published
or braodcast
material
may infringe copyright laws. Check these
laws before recording.
The CD CHECK button let you confirm the
input level of signals from a CD player by
raising the sensitivity of the Peak Level
Meter, while fast-forwarding the CD player
to search the peak value.
Note:
This function is available only with CD
players equipped with a manual
search
function
so
that
slightly
muted
but
audible sound can be heard.
1. Set the Input Selector (or Rec Selector)
of the amplifier to the CD position.
2. Press the CD CHECK
button in the
stop mode.

The "cd ch" display appears in the dis-
play window, and the Peak Level Meter
shows
the
level
of the signal input
from the CD player.
3. Start CD play and set the CD player to
the fast-forward mode (audible manual
search mode).
4. Adjust the input level with the REC
LEVEL controls.
5. Press the STOP button to release the
CD CHECK mode.

Timer-controlled Recording
1.Connect the deck and stereo system to
a commercially available audio timer as
shown in the diagram.
2.Set
the
power
switches
of all com-
ponents to ON.
3. Load the cassette to be recorded on deck
| or Il; load two cassettes if continuous
recording
with
decks
| and
II is re-
quired.
4.Set the TIMER switch to the REC posi-
tion, and the REVERSE MODE switch
as required.

5. Tune to the station broad casting the pro-
gram to be recorded.
6. Press PAUSE then RECORD of the deck
in which the tape has been loaded to set
to the record-pause mode.
7.Adjust
the
REC
LEVEL
controls
re-
ferring to the "Recording on deck | or
deck II'' section.
8.Set the NR SYSTEM switch as required.
9. Determine the side of tape from which
you want to start recording with the >
or <4 button of deck I.
10.Set the audio timer to the required start
(power on) and stop (power off) times.
When
this
setting
is complete,
the
power to all components will be switch-
ed off.
When the preset start time is reached, power
will be supplied and recording will start.
Timer-controlled Playback
1. Check that the deck is connected to the
amplifier correctly for normal playback.
2. Connect the audio timer in the same way
for timer-controlled recording.
3. Set the power switched of each com-
ponent to ON.
4. Load
the
pre-recorded
cassette
into
decks | or Il, or two cassettes into deck
| and Il when continuous playback is
required.
5. Set the REVERSE
MODE
switch as
required.
6. Set the TIMER
switch to the PLAY
position.
7. Set the NR SYSTEM switch as required.
8. Determine the playback direction of the
tape loaded in deck |.
9. Set the audio timer for the required start
(power on) and stop (power off) times.
After
these
settings,
the
power
to
all components will be switched off.
When the preset start time is reached, power
will be switched on and playback will start.
Note:
¢ For timer-controlled operation, deck | has
prior over deck I!. Recording or playback
will be started from deck | first at the
preset time. However, if a cassette is not
loaded in deck |, but is loaded in deck II,
deck 11 will start recording (or playback).
