Clutch lever (fig. 19)
Operating the lever disengages the clutch, thus
interrupting transmission from engine to gearbox
and hence to the drive wheel. Using the clutch properly is
essential to smooth riding, especially when moving off.

Using the clutch properly will avoid damage to
transmission parts and spare the engine.
Notes
It is possible to start the engine with side stand
down and the gearbox in neutral. When starting the bike
with a gear engaged, pull the clutch lever (in this case
the side stand must be up).
