The device can be operated with both tap water and distilled water. However, if
you use tap water, the device will need to be regularly descaled (see the "Cleaning
and Storage" chapter, "Descaling" section). If you use distilled water, there is no
need to descale the device.
1. Fill the measuring cup up to the MAX marking with water.
2. Pull the water reservoir cap (4) out of the water reservoir (5) Please note that it cannot
be completely detached from the device.
3. Pour the water from the measuring cup into the water reservoir (5). Here too you
should only pour up to the max marking.
4. Close the water reservoir cap (4) again. Make sure that the water reservoir (5) is
properly closed.
Use
CAUTION!
Warning of hot steam! This device works with hot steam! Operate the device
with caution.
CAUTION: hot surfaces! The steam bottom of the device and the attachment
used will become very hot during use. You should therefore only hold the device
by the handle when you are operating it. Do not touch the steam bottom or the
attachment used during or shortly after use.

Danger of scalding! Never aim the steam directly at people, animals or plants.
■
Never use the device without water to prevent damage to the device!
■
There must be plenty of space around the item of clothing which is to be smoothed.
You may only perform vertical smoothing if the item of clothing is hanging on a hanger
and cannot come into contact with other garments, objects, people or animals.
■
Danger of scalding! Only use the device once the control lamp has gone out. Op-
erating temperature has then been reached. If the device is used before the control
lamp has gone out, hot water may escape.
■
Do not turn the hot device upside down or place it on its side. Hot water could escape.
■
Before using the device, read the care instructions for the fabric which is to be
smoothed. Some fabrics, leather and suede as well as fabrics with fl ounces,
sequins and appliqués must not be steamed!
■
Never leave the device unattended when it is connected to the mains.
1. Mount the attachment you want (see the "Mounting / Removing Attachments" chapter).
2. Pour water into the water reservoir (5) (see the "Filling the Water Reservoir" chapter).
3. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed plug socket that is easily accessible.
The control lamp (1) lights up and the device starts to heat up. When the control
lamp (1) goes out, the device is ready for use.

4. Move the device without attachment in strokes over the fab-
ric and press the steam release button (2) at regular intervals
as you do so. However, do not keep the steam release but-
ton (2) held down constantly! It is important for the steam
bottom (8) to touch the fabric so that it is freshened up.
