Safety Instructions

This device may be used by children aged 8 and over and by

people with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or a
lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised or
have received instruction on how to use the device safely and
have understood the dangers resulting from failure to comply
with the relevant safety precautions.
Children must not play with the device.

Cleaning and user maintenance may not be carried out by chil-
■
dren without supervision.
Warning of hot steam! This device works with hot steam!
Operate the device with caution.
The device must not be left unattended while it is connected to
■
the mains power.
The mains plug must be pulled out of the plug socket before the
■
water reservoir is fi lled with water.
The device must not be used if it has been dropped, if it has vis-
■
ible signs of damage or leaks.
If the mains cable of this device is damaged, it must be replaced
■
by the manufacturer or customer service department or a simi-
larly qualifi ed person in order to avoid any hazards.
Dangers of Injury
■ Danger of suffocation from plastic fi lms and bags! Keep children and animals
away from the packaging material.
■ Never attempt to smooth clothes while somebody is wearing them.
■ Danger of scalding! Never aim the steam directly at people, animals or plants.
CAUTION: hot surfaces! The steam bottom of the device and the attachment
used may become hot during use. You should therefore only hold the device by
the handle when you are operating it. Do not touch the steam bottom or the at-
tachment used during or shortly after use.
■ The water reservoir cap must not be opened during use.
■ The device must be placed down on a stable surface. Do not turn the hot device up-
side down or place it on its side. Hot water could escape.
■ There must be plenty of space around the item of clothing which is to be smoothed.
You may only perform vertical smoothing if the item of clothing is hanging on a hanger
and cannot come into contact with other garments, objects, people or animals.
■ Allow the device to cool down completely before the water reservoir is emptied and /
or the device is cleaned and stored away.
