CONNECTIONS
Note for users in Great Britain
Special instructions for the connection of the recorder to radios,
amplifiers, etc. are given for users in Great Britain. These instruc-
tions are contained under the heading 'Connection instructions for
Great Britain'.
Note for users in Canada
See separate enclosed sheet showing patch cord connections for
Canadian users.
N.B. Never connect your recorder to a radio, television receiv-
er or record player etc. employing an A.C./D.C. chassis unless
a special tape recorder socket is provided. If in doubt, in the
interests of safety, it is essential that you consult your dealer.
Radio
Radio with round recorder socket
• Insert the 5-pin (or, if necessary, the 3 -pin) plug of the EL
3768/10 connecting cable in the recorder socket of the radio and
the 3-pin plug in socket ,z of the recorder.
Radio without round recorder socket
• Insert the 3- or 5 -pin plug of the EL 3768/10 connecting cable in
socket ©, of the recorder, and the other plug in the socket con-
nector of the 4822 321 20205 adapter cable.
• Connect the banana plugs of the adapter cable to the radio as
follows:
black plug (earth) in an earthed socket;
red plug (recording) in the non-earthed socket of a flat, 2 -pole re-
corder connection, if any, or of the extension loudspeaker output;
white plug (playback) in the non -earthed socket of the gramo-
phone connection. If the socket is suitable only for flat 5-pin plugs,
use the 4822 263 50012 adapter and connect the white plug to the
left or right-hand socket of the adapter.
Amplifier
• The connections are the same as those applying in the case of
radios.
Record player
Record player with round 5-pin plug
• Insert the plug of the record player lead in socket © of the re-
corder.
Record player with round 3-pin plug
• Insert the plug of the record player lead in the 5-pole socket
