4.4 Switching On, Cooling Down and Switching Off
NOTE AFTER TRANSPORT OR STORAGE
After transport, storage or long periods of non-use, moisture can seep into the
heating elements (magnesium oxide).
 Heat the calibrator to 120 °C for at least 15 minutes to dry the heating ele-
ments ( p. 55).
During this process, the calibrator has not yet reached the required insulation
voltage for protection class I.
Switching on
 Switch on the main switch.
Cooling down
To avoid injuries or material damage, it is necessary to bring the calibrator into a defined op-
erational state:
 Set a test point in the safe temperature range (≥ 10°C and ≤ 35 °C) ( p. 55)
or
 Select "Safe temperature range" as the behaviour at the end of the test task ( p. 53).
MAINS FAILURE OR SEPARATION FROM MAINS
In the event of a power failure, switching off with the main switch or after remov-
ing the mains connection ("EMERGENCY STOP"), the built-in fan no longer deliv-
ers cooling air.
Sufficient thermal decoupling between the metal block, tank and case is neverthe-
less guaranteed.
Switching off
IMPORTANT
Before switching off, the calibrator must have reached a safe temperature.
Switching off outside the safe temperature range may damage the calibrator.
 Do not switch off the calibrator until the safe temperature range has been
reached.
 Tap the
symbol in the bottom bar.
 If the calibrator has reached a safe temperature, tap "Yes".
The message "You can shut down the device." appears.
 Switch off the main switch.
 Remove and clean the calibration inserts ( p. 60).
