Before you start:
How you start you training is dependent on your physical condition. If you have not been
active for a long time and are overweight you have to start your training gently. Try to extend
your training time week for week for a few minutes.
At the beginning you might only be able to train in your target pulse for a few minutes. But
your fitness should increase in the first 6- 8 weeks. Don´t be disappointed if you need longer.
It is important that you train in your own speed. The better your fitness, the more intense
you need to train to reach your target pulse. Please pay attention to the following principles:
-
Ask your doctor before starting with the training. Your doctor can give you important
advice relating to fitness and diet plans. He/she will be able to work out a personal
program for you.
-
Start your training slow and set yourself small and realistic goals.
-
Combine your program with other endurance sports like dancing, swimming and cycling.
-
Please check your pulse regularly. If you don`t have a pulse measuring tool, ask your
doctor to show you how to feel your pulse.
-
Find out your pulse upper limit, which is dependent on age and condition.
-
While you train you should drink a lot in order to avoid dehydration. While training you
will lose a lot of liquids. Pay attention that the drinks have room temperature.
