Transport
The sensor should be transported only in its original packaging.

The BRE bromine-measuring cell is designed as a diaphragm-covered
amperometric 2-electrode measuring cell, facilitating continuous
determination of the concentration of bromine compounds used for water
disinfection.
The most commonly used bromination agents are listed in the table below.
The types of sensors are selected corresponding to the type of bromination
agent used. The specified calibration methods (DPD 1: free halogen; DPD 4:
total halogen) must be observed.

Application
ATTENTION
• Ignoring the specified working conditions (see Technical
data, Chapter 14) may lead to incorrect measurements
and to dangerous overdosing within a control system.
• The sensor is not suitable for checking the absence of
bromine.
• The presence of reducing-, oxidising reagents and
corrosion inhibitors may interfere with the measurement.
• The types of sensors (BRE 1 and BRE 2) must be selected
corresponding to the bromination agent used. The
specified calibration methods for the types of sensors
(DPD 1 or DPD 4, see Chapter 8.2) corresponding to the
type of bromination agent used must be observed.
