The CTE total chlorine sensor is a membrane-capped amperometric two-
electrode sensor. It is used for continuous measurement of the chlorine
compounds present when metering chlorine disinfectants.
Within this context the following compounds are included in the term total
chlorine:
- free chlorine (Cl
- bound chlorine (chloramines)
- organic bound chlorine (e.g. cyanuric acid derivates)
Does not include chloride (Cl - )

IMPORTANT
• Ignoring the specified working conditions (see Technical
data, Chapter 14) may lead to incorrect measurements
and to dangerous overdosing within a control system.
• The sensor is not suitable for checking the absence of
chlorine.
• The presence of reducing-, oxidising reagents and
corrosion inhibitors may interfere with the measurement.
