Fitting the cylinders
n Steps:
o Fitting the anchorages.
o Fitting the cylinder bracket (1) on the pillar.
o Mounting the cylinder fastening plate (2) on the bracket (1).
o Fitting the cylinder (4) on the cylinder fastening plate (2).
o Fitting the gate leaf mounting bracket (8).
o Coupling/uncoupling the cylinder.
o Fitting the anchorages.
SOMFY recommends that the angle bracket (1) be fixed using a chemical anchorage, owing to its
reliability.
Position the angle bracket (1) on the

pillar and check that all mounting holes
are perfectly aligned with the holes
drilled into the pillar.
o Fitting the cylinder bracket (1) on the pillar.
Position the bracket (1) fixing the
1
threaded rods with their washers and
screws.

Check before proceeding to the next step
Have you checked that the brackets are perfectly horizontal ?
Remove the bracket. Place the 2

chemical anchorages and their threaded
rods in the cylinder drill holes.
Wait until the chemical anchorages
have completely set.
Check the bracket is at the right level.

Retighten if necessary.

Fitting the cylinders
o Mounting the cylinder fastening plate (2) on the bracket (1).
Position the cylinder fastening plate (2)

onto the bracket (1) mounted in either
the «e» or «E» orientation as determined
above.

Position the cylinder fastening bracket
into the hole which is the closest to the
hinge.

o Fitting the cylinder (4) on the cylinder fastening plate (2).
Fit the cylinder (4) on the cylinder
1
fastening plate (2) and secure it with
rod (5). Lubricate.

Assemble the cylinder fastening plate

(2) on the bracket (1), fastening it using
the screws, washers, and nuts (3)
provided.
