60. Glue the wheel axle doublers (80) in the outer wheel spat shells (81, 82) using UHU-por,
lining up the holes carefully. Glue the inner wheel spat shells (83, 84) to the outer shells
(81, 82).
61. Slip two plywood locating rings (84) on each wheel axle, and fit the wheels in the wheel
spats. Slip the wheel spats and the wheels on the axles, and fit a further two locating
rings (84) on the axle to hold the parts in place.
62. Fit the grubscrew (73) in the collet (85) and screw it in by two full turns. Insert the brass
tubular rivet (86) in the tailwheel (87), fit the collet, and attach these parts to the
tailwheel unit.
63. Slide the undercarriage legs into the fuselage, position the wheel spats as shown in the
photo, and tack them to the legs using foam cyano. Remove the undercarriage from the
fuselage and glue the locating rings (84) to the wheel axle doublers and the wheel axles
using thin cyano. Now position the wheels in the spats, slide the locating rings into
position, and secure them with tiny drops of thin cyano. Take great care to avoid glue
running into the wheel hubs. Sand back the end of the wheel axles flush with the
spats.
64. Glue the undercarriage leg fairings (88) to the undercarriage using UHU-por; they should
be central relative to the wheel legs, and butt up against the wheel spats. Slide the
undercarriage units into the fuselage and shorten the fairings to the point where they
just rest against the fuselage. Do not glue the undercarriage units to the fuselage at
this stage.
65. Roughen the cabane struts (12, 13) at both ends over a distance of 3 mm, and insert the
struts in the fuselage. Place the top wing centre section on the cabane template and
insert the cabane struts in the appropriate slots.
66. Glue the cabane struts in place using thick cyano.
67. Carefully break off the jig sections of the cabane template, which are no longer needed.
68. Lightly sand the cabane braces (19) and the cabane struts. Check that the cabane
struts are a snug fit; it should not be necessary to press the struts into position.
Glue the cabane braces in place using foam cyano, thick cyano or 5-minute epoxy.
69. The undercarriage legs can now be sanded lightly, inserted, and glued to the fuselage.
70. Attach the remaining magnets from Stage 41 to the fuselage former. Fit the cowl former
(89) on the fuselage former and glue the magnets to the cowl former. Take care that
the cowl former makes good contact. Allow the glue to set hard, then separate the
cowl former from the fuselage again, using a steel ruler as a lever.
71. Lay the cowl former on the building board with the magnet side facing down. Fit the cowl
stringers (90) in the slots, and glue them in place using foam cyano. Add the cowl
reinforcing former (91) as shown, and secure it with foam cyano.
72. Use UHU-por to glue the cowl shells (92) to the cowl former (90), keeping the edges
flush. If there is a slight gap between the fuselage and the cowl when you fit the
moulding on the fuselage, you can push the cowl gently against the fuselage and rub
