4.5 BEFORE STARTING WORK
Before starting the working operation grease all parts indicated by transfer nr. 14 ('GREASE') at page 41 of this leaflet.
Carry out a metering test as described in chapter 4.6 (if the Electric Distribution Control is present, please refer to the instructions in
the relevant User and Maintenance Booklet).
4.6 DISTRIBUTOR TEST
General information
- The correct functioning of the doser mainly depends on the chain wheels installed in the gearbox of the transmission wheel
(see Table 5 «A-B», page 61), depending on the working width!
- Before using the machine for the first time, check the number of teeth in the gearbox!
- Fill with fertilizer before starting the distribution operatione.
- Never leave fertilizer residue inside the machine overnight, especially in autumn!
- Many types of fertilizers are extremely hygroscopic and form an extremely hard crust on the doser.
- The GASPARDO doser is quick and easy to empty and clean
1) Rest the machine's support feet on the ground. Remove the fastening pin and pull the inspection platform down (Fig. 43).
2) To loosen the knob (A, Fig. 44) and to remove the hatch (B).
3) Position the product tray underneath the discharge outlet (C).
4) Loosen the fastening screw on the gear adjuster (D, Fig. 45), and bring the graded indicator to the required position (depending
on the quantity of product to be distributed), by rotating the adjuster knob (E, Fig. 45).
The distribution table it is always possible to calculate approximate fertilizer distribution quantities.
It is, however, always necessary to carry out a distributor test!
5) In order to perform the actual distributor test itself, insert the sowing test handle in the gearbox and rotate it in a counterclockwise
(Fig. 46), as shown on the sticker: 86 revolutions of the handle correspond to a 1/10 of a hectare.
6) Next check, using precision scales, the quantity of product collected and multiply this by ten in order to obtain the quantity
distributed (in kg./ha).
7) Make any necessary adjustments. Start up the machine, performing the above mentioned steps in reverse order.
8) Once the distributor test has been successfully performed, secure the fastening screw of the gear adjuster once more (D, Fig. 45).
WARNING: Do not use tools to tighten the knob. Do not tightentoo much. A slight "clamping effect" of the brake is sufficient.
The distribution table is also affixed to the
machine. The distribution quantities
marked with an asterisk (*) cannot be
distributed at operating speeds superior
to 8 km/h! In this case, the speed must be
reduced in certain circumstances, as the
maximum capacity of the pneumatic
system is reached.
