4. Routines

Always wear suitable, preferably bright and visible
clothing. Wear tight legwear or use knee-bands to
prevent your clothes from getting caught in the drive
train. Danger of accident! Wear footwear that fits the
pedal system.

4.1 Tyres

Are both tyres in good condition and do they have enough pressure? Insuf-
ficient tyre pressure impairs riding stability and the tyre's lifespan. Please
see tyre sidewall for recommendations of the tyre manufacturer.
For the standard tyre Continental GP Urban 35c the manufacturer recom-
mends a tyre pressure of 4.8bar up to a maximum of 6.0bar.
Check the tyres for tears or caught debris that might
cause a sudden drop of pressure.
Danger of accident!

4.2 Brakes

1. Operate the brakes on the parked e-bike. A point of pressure must build
up before the lever touches the handlebar.
2. Check the brake hoses for defects before every ride. On a hydraulic disc
brake the brake fluid must not leak!
The pressure point describes a position of the brake lever
i
when the brake pads touch the rotor and give feedback.
A properly bled brake's point of pressure is always in the
same position when the lever is pulled and does not feel
„squishy". If this is not the case, the hydraulic brakes must
be bled by a specialist dealer!
Do not touch the disc brake rotor with bare hands. The
!
natural greasy film of your skin will transfer to the surface
of the rotor and therefore impair the function of the brake.

4.3 Tooth belt

1. Check the tooth belt for debris on the inside of the belt and between
belt and sprocket. Remove any foreign objects before you start your
ride.
2. Clean a dirty tooth belt with clear water and a soft brush.
