Resetting user-defined passwords
By activating this function, all passwords will be re-
set to the initial passwords in the letter containing
access data.
In addition, the network settings are reset and the
saved network profiles are deleted.
Before resetting, it is recommended that you create a
backup of your settings.

Service
Displaying device and connection information
This information refers to the data about the device
and the existing network connection, such as e.g.:

the version number of the software (changes
with each software update)
–
the IP addresses that can be used to access the
energy manager
In the event of an error message, this data is required
by the Porsche Service Partner.
Downloading software updates
The energy manager can be updated both automati-
cally and manually to the latest software version.
The just installed software version can be viewed in
the Device information.
Downloading automatically:

For automatic software updates, the energy manager
must have an Internet connection.

Downloading manually:
As an alternative to the automatic update, it is also
possible to search for a software update manually.

Option 1: Update using existing Internet connec-
tion of the energy manager
1. Select the Look for software update button.
In the background, a search is conducted
for new software updates. New software up-
dates are offered for download.
2. Start downloading the software update.
3. Install the software update.

Option 2: Updating without existing Internet
connection of the energy manager

1. Navigate to porsche.com in the browser of the
end device. You can find the software updates at:
https://www.porsche.com/international/about-
porsche/e-performance/software-update
2. Search for the current software version and
download it to the end device.
3. In the web application, select Upload update file.
4. Navigate to the file and load.
5. In the dialogue, select Start update.
The software update is loaded and installed.
The system is restarted.
Saving the backup and restoring
Your configuration settings and the data already col-
lected can be saved with the aid of a backup. If
needed, e.g. after resetting to factory settings, these
settings can be restored from the backup. Backups
can be created automatically (recommended) and
manually.
Backing up automatically:
Your end device can connect directly to the energy
manager using its integrated WiFi hotspot.
1. Select the Set up hotspot function.
2. In the settings, enter the network name and the
security code of the hotspot.
When this function is activated, the backups are
automatically stored on the connected USB storage
device.
1. Insert a USB storage device into one of the two
USB ports of the energy manager (USB storage
medium has an ext4 or FAT32 file system).
2. Activate function.
3. Assign password: Enter password.
The password protects your data and must
be entered when importing or restoring the
backup.

The option to perform a backup manually is still avail-
able.
Backing up manually:
For a manual backup, the data can be saved on an
end device.
