Intended Use
The transducers of the ProLine P50000 product line measure voltages and
currents (via shunt resistor) on rolling stock and in railway infrastructure sys-
tems and industrial plants. The transducers may be installed in underfloor
and roof containers, and in engine rooms of locomotives and traction units.
Inside rolling stock the transducers must be installed in closed and fire-
protected enclosures (see page 62 for details on installation).
The input may be directly connected to primary circuits (high potentials).
The input signal is captured, processed and galvanically isolated, and then
output as a floating signal, proportional to the input. For further processing,
the output signal is fed into a controller, a safety device, an indicator, or a
data acquisition system.
Only operate the transducer as follows:
• in accordance with the intended use
• in accordance with the technical specifications
• within the specified ambient conditions
