Protection against water
Check that the cover is in a not damaged and free of cracks. Inspect to ascertain that the seals are still
present and in perfect condition.
8.11
Lifting pole
Check that the bushing and the inner compartment (cover plate at the upper end of the head) are free from
any corrosion and cracks. Check that the handle and the fixation belt are free from deformations, damages
of the buckle or cracks.

Backup battery
The backup-battery is used for the mains isolation. In case of mains supply drop out the bed can be brought
in the lowest position and the bed base can be adjusted flat with it. Therefore the bed is working without
mains supply but this leads very soon to the discharge of the battery.
When the backup battery is discharged, it has to be replaced by a new battery of type 9V-6LR61 (Type
Alkaline). Proceed as described below:
Open the (orange) coloured battery case at the main actuator (2 cross head screws). Be careful to avoid
damaging the sealing ring. Pull the old battery out, remove the connector. For mounting the new battery
follow the instruction the other way round. Check that the sealing ring is not damaged and mounted correctly.

The backup-battery should be replaced minimum every two years.

Other maintenance and repairing conditions
Furthermore, for safety reasons, the following measurements must be recorded every five years :
• Change of the lifting pool ;
• Careful check of all actuators (no evidence of cable and connection deterioration, noise level).

Cleaning and disinfections
Before cleaning and disinfecting, pay attention to the following measures: Check that all
cables and connections are intact, to prevent liquid to enter. Damaged parts have to be
replaced.
Check that the mains plug has been disconnected before cleaning the bed. Please position it safely
to avoid that the contacts get wet. After finishing the cleaning, the plug has to be dried completely.
Make sure that all actuators and the hand control unit are connected, to prevent humidity entering
the plugs and sockets to avoid defective function or even short circuits. On every plug have to be
