turns too fast or exercises too much force, you run
the risk of a hand injury.
Verify that the branch‑off and the pipe are tightly
clamped. Both have to be clamped so they will not
move during welding.
Info
For longer pipes, the length of pipe protruding over
the clamp(s) has to be supported or manually held
with no risk of movement.
Measuring it at four points on the heating spigot, verify
that the heating element has the appropriate nominal tem‑
perature. If it is not already, move the basic chassis to its
maximally "open" start‑up position und insert the heating
element between the components.
The heating element is set on a bridge end‑
ing in a catch which hooks onto the position‑
ing pin of the movable heating element seat

in the basic clamping chassis. This construction
design ensures, on the one hand, that the heat‑
ing element will be aligned properly in‑between
the components and, on the other, that the com‑
ponents will be detached automatically from the
heating element after the heating stage simply by mov‑
ing the clamping console apart from the pipe. Also by
design, there is a bit of slack between the catch and the
positioning pin, which allows the proper alignment of
the heating socket and spigot on the heating element
with respect to the components to be processed.
Slowly close the components to be jointed in on the heat‑
ing element, so they will slide into the socket and over the
spigot. When both have moved fully over or into the heat‑
ing element, the heating stage starts.
A reliable joint can be achieved only if the param‑
eters for welding the components indicated by the
manufacturer of these components are observed. It

is critical that you comply with this information on
the duration of the various welding stages, heating
element temperature, etc.
Wait for the heating time as indicated by the manufacturer
to be over, then move the clamping console apart to detach
the components from the heating element. The previously
adjusted setpoint for the distance to detaching helps with
optimizing the change‑over stage. Remove the heating ele‑
ment and close the components in on each other, using the
handwheel, to the point where the clamping console reach‑
es the correct fusion depth as defined by the previously ad‑
justed depth setpoint.
After the cooling time as indicated by the manufacturer of
