The HST 300 Easy allows welding electrofusion fittings sized up to
315 mm that feature a bar code, provided it comforms to the specifica-
tion set by the standard ISO TR 13950 Every fitting is provided with a tag
with the bar code on it. The code contains information about the proper
welding of the component. The model version Easy D also allows enter-
ing some of these data manually.
Before welding starts, a temperature sensor on the welding cable checks
the ambient temperature, and the welding transformer temperature is
monitored while welding is in progress. The microprocessor-controlled
HST 300 Easy Welding Unit
controls and monitors the welding process in a fully automated way,
determines welding duration depending on the ambient temperature.
The model version Easy D additionally records the characteristics of the
welding process to a report.

220 - 240 volts AC with a frequency of 50 - 60 Hz. If one of these pa-
rameters is outside the tolerance thresholds, the unit stops operation
after 15 seconds or refuses to start operation.
The unit may be operated within a temperature range from –10°C to
+50°C. The output voltage at the welding cable is max. 48 volts trans-
formed by galvanic separation.

Operation

5.1

Turning the Welding Unit On

After connecting the power supply cord to the mains power or a genera-
tor, turn the welding unit on at the On/Off switch. This causes the display
to the right to show.
Then the screen changes to Display 2.
CAUTION! Watch for Sytem Errors
If an error is detected during the auto-test after switching the unit on,
a "System Error" message is displayed. Disconnect the welding device
from the power supply and the fitting immediately. Have it sent to the
manufacturer and repaired.
5.2

Entering the Welder ID Code

only for model version Easy D:
The welding unit can be configured to ask for the welder identification
code before the fitting code is entered. The display screen then shows
the message "Enter Welder Code." The numeric code can be entered
either by reading it from a tag with the scanning pen or by using the
arrow keys , , , .
When the welder code is read from a bar code using the scanning pen,
an audible signal confirms this and the screen shows the next input
display. When the code is entered manually, it is saved by pressing the
START key. If the code entered is not correct, a "Code Error" message
appears; check the sequence of numbers and correct as needed. If the
code entered is correct, it is saved to system memory and inserted into
the welding reports to be printed.
If the welder code feature is disabled, the input screen for the welder
code will not show.
