Yeast Pitching

Function
• InPro 8300 RAMS 1 = InPro 8300 RAMS CALI – Instrument with the lower serial number
– Measures the basic turbidity of the wort in the measuring range 0 ... 1000 EBC and transfers
• InPro 8300 RAMS 2 = InPro 8300 RAMS BASIC or InPro 8300 RAMS TCS
– Monitors "yeast draw-off" so that metering can only be started when yeast has arrived at the
Commissioning procedure
• Before commissioning using wort and yeast, the zero points of all units must be adjusted to water.
• When wort (without yeast) runs through the pipe, the turbidity values measured by the two
InPro 8300 RAMS units must be identical. If the measured values deviate, one of the two units mus
be adjusted using the RAMS CONFIG program.
• This correction must be repeated if necessary.
• While yeast is being added, the measured values for the yeast cell count obtained by InPro 8300
RAMS 2 must be verified in the laboratory. Several tests in the laboratory are advisable. If the
deviation is detected several times, the measured value also needs to be corrected.
• If different setpoints are used for different types of beer, the measuring results should be checked in
the laboratory for each of these setpoints and the values corrected if necessary.
